A RELAXING EVERGREEN, CO HOME TO “GO HOME” TO

A RELAXING EVERGREEN, CO HOME TO  “GO HOME” TO

A Husband/Wife, Contractor/Designer Duo

Tackle Their Own Home

We have spent most of our career years (Interior Design, Remodeling, New Construction) creating fabulous spaces for other people.  And because our clients have homes in the states THEY love to call home, we travel.  We travel A LOT!  We’ve been so busy working on projects away from home that we tackled our own home remodel work on nights, weekends and often Holidays.  So when we found our darling Evergreen, CO mountain home I declared, quite loudly, once this remodel’s finished I was never moving again.  Now this home wasn’t necessarily our dream home, mostly because it was lacking the monstrous shop/garage/tool museum Rob desperately needs.  It was however the perfect size, offered tons of potential, is located in a wonderful community and has low maintenance mountain landscaping, perfect for my brown thumbs and lack of lawn and gardening time.  The house was a bit bright, in color, and dark on the open living plan.  It also needed much updating.  My eyes however saw only a home that could be the modern-mountain style I love, a peaceful and relaxing place to decompress, easy lock n leave and the perfect place to kick back with ALL the wild life…family, friends, oh and the deer and elk too.

The first thing we did was knocked out walls to open up the space, bring in the light and those gorgeous mountain views.  We removed the dining room wall and a couple of closets.

Next we removed all the existing flooring throughout and replaced it with Engineered Bamboo and new tile in the bathrooms and laundry room.

Kitchen:  The cabinets were in good shape so it made sense to keep them and just reconfigure the layout a bit.  The upper cabinets were removed and replaced with custom designed rough cut shelves.  Quartzite countertops replaced the existing corian.  We extended the size of the peninsula to give more space for entertaining.  When remodeling there are sometimes obstacles you have to work around.  As much as we wanted to remove the soffit, it housed too much so we opted to just scale it back.  Stoning the entire kitchen wall brought out the mountain feel and the simple contemporary pendant lights kept it clean and bright.

Three complete bathroom renovations took a few weekends and most our holiday breaks.  Contemporary shower designs, new countertops, plumbing and lighting fixtures, a free standing tub in the master…you get the picture.  Just look at the before and afters!

The bedrooms just needed personalization and design details.  One theme’d room dear to my heart we created was The Paul Room.  You can read more about this project in our All You Need Is Love…And A Paul McCartney Room! blog on our website.

A fantastic fireplace transformation and a few RDK Custom Furnishings added to our cozy mountain home feel.  The office furniture, entry light, barn doors, coat rack and blue “beetle” pine vanity mirror are all part of our custom furnishings line.

The stairway was a big transformation as we opened up the landing, replaced the banister and balusters.

An updated walkout basement for entertaining and offering privacy for our guests completed this whole house remodel.

As much as we loved our little modern mountain home, life does bring changes and contractors grow out of 2 stall garages.  We recently sold this home, including most of the furnishings, to a lovely couple who are excited to call Evergreen home and enjoy all that Colorado has to offer.  Life is a journey and home building and remodeling is our passion, so on to the next!

Cheers!

High Rise High Fashion…Welcome to Camerone’s Closet

High Rise High Fashion…Welcome to Camerone’s Closet When designing a closet for a model, philanthropist, and fashionista, the organization aspect is not the only priority. As it shouldn’t be for any closet design. Many people think a closet design is more about function than fashion and often these areas of […]
